Creating Files in Paint Shop Pro

To create a new artwork in Paint Shop Pro select File > New (Ctrl+N).

For business cards set the size to 3.583" x 2.402" and for A6 post card to 5.965" x 4.252". These dimensions include the bleed of 0.118" for and business cards and 0.059" (4.2pt) for post cards.

Safety Margins

Any time an image or colour is printed to the edge of a page, it must extend beyond the final dimensions of your job to allow for cutting.

Text or artwork you wish to preserve must be at least 0.118" (8.5pt) inside of the final dimension of your design. To create your card in the safe zone you can create guidelines by selecting View > Guides and then dragging them out from the ruler.

For business cards set the guides to 0.118", 0.236", 2.165" and 2.283" vertically and 0.118", 0.236", 3.346" and 3.465" horizontally. For post cards set the guides to 0.059", 1.177", 4.075" and 4.193" vertically and 0.059", 1.177", 5.787" and 5.906" horizontally.

Save the artwork

It is recommended that you save your work as JPG. To do so select File > Export and export it as JPG.
